What does AIG 4 Latinos have to offer?

About Us!
How can AIG 4 Latinos help you as the parent to reach the proper contacts?
Identifying your child is a process - Identification reading or math for your child is a four-step the process that includes 1), referral, 2,) screening, 3,) assessment of needs, and 4,) placement in appropriate service options. You will have to advocate for your child if the teacher or some other school authority has not already made contact with you. Go to the office of the administrator, either a teacher, counselor or the principal and ask that your child's Gifted Identification Team (GIT) team recommends he or she for Academically Gifted and Intellectual (AIG) testing. Once the test is completed and scored, you will be contacted. If your child has tested well and based on the results, the child will be removed from their current class and placed in a class for gifted students similar to him or her.

We are here to help

Imagine your child is gifted in reading math or both subjects and no one is able to articulate just how gifted he or she is. What is even more concerning is your child speaks English as a second language.
Unfortunately, there feels like a bridge of understanding between those who have identified their giftedness, who can barely speak to you in your language, and then there is you on the other side.
Here at AIG 4 Latinos, we are dedicated to helping you as a parent navigate the necessary terrain for both your daughter and yourself. Confíe en nosotros - We get it! Making the best choices for our children is a family affair and we are sure to include everyone in the decision-making process.
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
What does the test for gifted children look like? A CogAT test
The CogAT is a multiple choice test which is designed to test three basic areas - different types of verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal test items. It is administered in the English language but can be provided as an option online or pencil-paper. The following is a glimpse of what the results look like for reading.
As your cursor slides over the photo, the images following are those related to the type of quantitative test provided. Those tests which are related to math in nature will measure your child's potential.
